Unified Information System Project to Strengthen National Market Supply and Regulate Prices

The Minister of Internal Trade and National Market Regulation, Ms. Amel Abdellatif, co-chaired a coordination meeting on Sunday in Algiers with the Minister, High Commissioner for Digitalization, Ms. Meriem Benmouloud, dedicated to the study of an information system project aimed at monitoring the supply of the national market and ensuring the proper functioning of public service, in accordance with the instructions of the Prime Minister, Sifi Ghrieb.

The meeting was held in the presence of executives from several concerned sectors, as well as representatives from the Ministry of National Defence, the National Gendarmerie Command, the Information Systems Security Agency, the General Directorate of National Security, and the National Statistics Office.

During this meeting, a presentation on two digital platforms adopted by the Ministry of Internal Trade and National Market Regulation was given. The first concerns the distribution network, commercial spaces, and price monitoring, while the second pertains to storage spaces, including cold rooms and warehouses. The two platforms will be integrated into the future information system dedicated to monitoring the supply of the national market.

In this context, Ms. Abdellatif specified that the digital platform dedicated to the distribution network and price monitoring allows for precise and real-time tracking of the supply situation, while the platform related to storage spaces offers a digital map locating these spaces, thus facilitating stock monitoring and contributing to decision-making.

For her part, Ms. Benmouloud emphasised that the establishment of a unified information system for monitoring market supply will unite the efforts of different sectors, thanks to the provision of precise and reliable data, thereby enhancing the effectiveness of public interventions, in accordance with the provisions of Presidential Decree No. 25-320 establishing a national data governance system.
